How do you change the thermostat on a 1998 vw jetta TDI?

Where is the thermostat located? Can you get to it without going under the car?How do you change the thermostat on a 1998 vw jetta TDI?
My suggestion is take it to a repair shop dear. This is an inexpensive repair really. The thermostat is only worth 20 bucks tops. Have a qualified technician change it for you. It will cost you maybe $100.00 all in.How do you change the thermostat on a 1998 vw jetta TDI?
depending on if it has reverse coolant flow or not it could be located at the upper rad. hose at the block or lower rad. hose for reverse flowHow do you change the thermostat on a 1998 vw jetta TDI?
not too familer with a jetta tdi,

but usually they are located on the top of the front of the engine.

Look for water pump, follow this up, until you find two hoses that enter a round metal area, with about 3-4 small bolts that hold it down. It will be inthe middle of the engine under this will be the thermostat.

Make sure to buy a new seal when replacing this, and clean the old one off. almost always when pulling it off, the old seal will be destoyed.
